  Abstract: The Indian Sundarban delta complex is one of the hot spots of biodiversity in the Indian subcontinent sustaining some 34 species of true mangrove flora. The aquatic phase is saturated with dissolved oxygen (DO) and the average values in the present study area, Ajmalmari (considered on the basis of 3 decades; 1984–2014) are 5.81 ppm, 6.43 ppm and 6.13 ppm in premonsoon, monsoon and postmonsoon seasons respectively.
