  Abstract: Abu Qasim Khalaf Ibn Abbas Al-Zahrawi, referred to in the West as Albucasis was born in 936 A.D. in Al-Zahra; a suburb, six miles northwest of Cordoba, the capital of Muslim Spain (Al-Andalus).
