Abstract: This review summarizes current knowledge and experience of piezosurgical device in periodontics and implantology which was developed in 1988. This device uses a modulated ultrasonic frequency that permits highly precise and safe cutting of hard tissue. The chief advantages of piezosurgery include decreased blood loss, soft tissue protection and less vibration and noise that increases comfort of the patient.
