Abstract: Helianthus annuus L. (Sunflower), belonging to the family Asteraceae, is a well-recognized plant in both traditional and modern systems of medicine. In Unani medicine, it is described under the name “Shams-ul-Nahar,” attributed with specific Mizaj (temperament) and pharmacological actions.
