Abstract: G. sylvestre is herb plant and belongs to the Asclepiadaceae family. Leaves of this plant are used for making medicine for the treatment of diabetes they are also used as diuretics, as well as work sugar destroyers. The main chemical constituent of this plant is gymnemic acid. Investigation of literature uncovered some eminent pharmacological activities of this plant such as antidiabetic, hypolipidaemic, antimicrobial, free radical scavenging antiobesity and anti-inflammatory activities. …
