  Abstract: Introduction: Appendicular tie/knot syndrome is a very rare presentation of acute appendicitis causing intestinal obstruction. The literature has described intestinal knot syndromes such as ileosigmoid knots and ileal-ileal knots. We present a case of an appendico-ileal knot, an uncommon type of closed-loop blockage, caused by a lengthy, inflamed appendix wrapping around a loop of the ileum.
