Abstract: Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is a major complication for patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) on Hemodialysis (HD), with the mortality rate from CVD being nearly 20 times higher than in the general population. As Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) advances, patients accumulate both traditional and kidney-specific cardiovascular risk factors, such as hypertension, diabetes, fluid overload, electrolyte imbalances, and uremic toxins.
