Antibacterial Activity of CaSO4 Nanorods Prepared via Hydrothermal Method Compared to Bulk CaSO4By durga prasad, H. Nagabhushana, C. R. Girija, T. V. Venkatesha, B. M. Nagabhushana
Abstract: 800x600 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Calcium sulphate (CaSO4) nanorods have been synthesized by low-temperature hydrothermal method using CaSO4 powder as precursor and hexadecylamine (HDA) as surfactant at 180 0C for 7 days. The powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) patterns were studied. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images show nanorods have diameters of about 100nm-200nm and length of about 2-10μm. Fourier transformed infrared spectrum (FTIR) shows a strong doublet …

Nanostructured TiO2 Prepared Through Sol–Gel Method Enhances the Activity of Antibiotics against Gram Positive BacteriaBy durga prasad, Nagaraju Kottam, H. Nagabhushana, C.R. Girija, T.V. Venkatesha, B.M. Nagabhushana
Abstract: The synthesis and bioactivity of titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles has been extensively studied. However, the antibacterial activity of TiO2 individually or in combination with different antibiotics has not been demonstrated. TiO2 was prepared by sol–gel process using precursor Titanium (IV) Chloride (TiCl4) and concentrated sulfuric acid in 4 h of calcinations at 550 °C and the enhancement effect of TiO2 nanoparticle on the antibacterial activity of different antibiotics was evaluated …
