Abstract: Field experiment was conducted at Guru Kashi University research farm, Punjab, India with four replications during rabi 2016; the experiment has five treatments. Mulching has very positive effect on the emergence of plant; in the treatment T1 the emergence was recorded maximum, i.e. 35 and 45 days after planting, highest emergence was 79% and 97.5%, respectively and the emergence percentage in other treatment was less as compared to T1.
