Abstract: AbstractSilver nanoparticles have been embedded in CaO-P2O5 and CaO-CaF2-P2O5 glasses using melt quenching technique and heat treatment process. The growth of silver nanoparticles in the glass matrix appeared to be time dependent. Mechanical properties such as Vickers hardness, fracture toughness and brittleness for the glass samples were evaluated using a Vickers Indentation technique.
