Regression Analysis of the Effect of Different N Doses in Calendula officinalis L.By Ömer Çalışkan, Dursun Kurt
Abstract: AbstractThe present study was conducted to investigate the effects of different nitrogen doses (0, 3, 6, 9 ve 12 kg/da) on flower yield and some yield parameters of pot marigold (Calendula officinalis L.) plants in 2015 under ecological conditions of Samsun province of Turkey. The first flower harvest was performed on 10th of July and 24 harvests were performed throughout the experiments. The greatest fresh and dry flower yields were …

Chemical Content Variations of Hypericum perforatum Growing in Turkey during its Ontogenetic and Diurnal CyclesBy Dursun Kurt, Cüneyt Çırak
Abstract: AbstractThe biological activities of Hypericum perforatum have been mainly attributed to its hypericin and hyperforin contents. The present study was conducted to determine ontogenetic, morphogenetic and diurnal variation of hypericin, pseudohypericin and hyperforin contents in H. perforatum growing in Turkey. Plants were harvested at floral budding, full flowering, fresh fruiting and mature fruiting stages three times a day. When harvested they were dissected into stem, leaf and reproductive tissues, which …

Amentoflavone and Mangiferin in Hypericum calycinum, Hypericum cardiophyllum and Hypericum bithynicumBy Dursun Kurt, Cuneyt Cirak, Jolita Radusiene, Valdas Jakstas, Liudas Ivanauskas, Fatih Yayla
Abstract: The present study was conducted out to determine amentoflavone and mangiferin contents of Hypericum calycinum, Hypericum cardiophyllum and Hypericum bithynicum, growing wild in Turkey. The aerial parts representing a total of 30 individuals were collected at full flowering, dried at room temperature and assayed for secondary metabolite concentrations by HPLC-PDA. Both compounds were detected in all three species in different amounts depending on plant tissue. Results were discussed in phytochemical …
